Christia Mercer

Christia Mercer is Gustave M. Berne Professor of Philosophy at Columbia University. One of her interests is contextualizing the history of philosophy. To that end, she designed a book series, Oxford Philosophical Concepts and she is co-editor of the Oxford New Histories of Philosophy series. She directs the Center for New Narratives in Philosophy. Mercer has received numerous awards for her teaching and research, but is devoting more and more of her time to prison reform and to running her Just Ideas program.
