Theme: USC will host an interdisciplinary roundtable on the theme of “sustainability”. Our aim is to tackle the question of natural environment & urban space from an ecological, social, and economic point of view. The climatic emergency and the housing crisis in South California are more than ever an issue that requires us to rethink our governance model with key players from different backgrounds. But it is difficult to have economic welfare cohabitate with politics of restrictions and social justice: this tension is then interesting to be discussed in the line of the Night of Ideas’ theme “More?”.

For the occasion of The Night of Ideas, I wanted to recreate a moment of peace, harmony with nature and connection with the environment that surrounds us. Inspired by the question of the natural environment and urban space from an ecological, social and economic point of view. Dance, visual art and the song of the birds respond to the call for a climate emergency and the housing crisis in southern California.
