The Seattle edition of Night of Ideas, hosted by Alliance Française de Seattle in partnership with Villa Albertine and Gage Academy of Art, will propose a weekend of critical inquiry centered on the evolving concept of progress. Commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, this program examines the legacy of the Enlightenment against modern challenges like the climate crisis and the erosion of democratic values. Participants will explore art, philosophy, and technology as tools for resistance and optimism. The event unfolds in two parts:

  • April 18 at Town Hall Seattle: Provocative keynote addresses, interactive panels, and community boards
  • April 19 at Gage Academy of Art: Hands-on artistic workshops and deep-dive discussions.

Join us for these free events, reimagining what progress truly means for our collective future.
