This year’s edition of Night of Ideas will take place at the Rothko Chapel in Houston, focusing on health justice within the broader theme of “Common Ground.”

The event will encourage participants to reflect on how we can commit to and protect what unites us. How can we cultivate authentic interpersonal connections in an increasingly digital world? In a polarized political climate, where can we find opportunities for meaningful dialogue? As extreme weather threatens our planet, how can we safeguard the land beneath our feet?

Discussions on health justice will be complemented by performances by the Texas Medical Center Orchestra and artists from ReelAbilities as well as talks by French writer and resident of Villa Albertine Prune Antoine and epidemiologist Dr. Peter Hotez.

The following day, on Saturday, March 29, families are invited to participate in an after-party at 10am at Basket Books & Art: a free storytime and craft workshop open to children aged 4 and up on the theme “Stories that care, art that speaks.”
