Aly Ndiaye, known as Webster, is a Québec-based hip-hop artist, historian, and advocate for historical awareness. Of Senegalese and Québécois heritage, he explores the history of Afro-descendant communities in Canada, particularly slavery in Québec, through lectures, guided tours (Qc History X), and museum exhibitions.
A veteran of Québec’s hip-hop scene since 1995, Webster has led writing workshops worldwide, including at Harvard, MIT, and UCLA. He is also the author of À l’Ombre des Feuilles, Le Grain de Sable, and the French translator of The Racial Contract. Since 2023, he has served on Canada’s Historic Sites and Monuments Board.
