Victoria James

Contemporary Artist

Victoria was born in London, United Kingdom. She grew up in Geneva, Switzerland, and set up her studio in Arizona in 2017. Her passion for developing a visual language began in her early teens. She majored in Art for her IB at the International School of Geneva and was offered a place at Chelsea College of Art and Design, London. She obtained a degree in Fine Art in her early twenties and has exhibited her work internationally in both solo and group shows ever since. Her work is part of several private and public collections in Europe and North America. For the past ten years, Victoria has also been a mentor for creatives applying to Art College, as well as for Art students in their final year of college and professional artists across the globe wishing to deepen their creative process.

Isaac Joslin

Associate Professor, ASU

An Assistant Professor at Arizona State University, Isaac Joslin focuses on Francophone African aesthetics, Afrofuturism, and postcolonial studies. With a PhD from the University of Minnesota and extensive research experience across West and East Africa, he has published in numerous leading journals. His latest book, Afrofuturisms, explores ecology and humanity in Francophone culture. He is a French speaker who enjoys the outdoors and creative arts.

Grace Koube

Youth and Education Coordinator, Phoenix Sister Cities

Grace has extensive experience in working with colleagues, managers, people of diverse cultural backgrounds. She is fluent in English, French and Spanish and currently works as the Youth and Education Coordinator for Phoenix Sister Cities, a non-profit that fosters relationships between the people of Phoenix and their Sister Cities around the world to promote friendship, peace and prosperity.

Anais Toro-Engel

Innovation Project Manager

Anaïs brings more than 10 years of international experience in communication, digital and sustainability. Having worked across Europe, Middle East, Africa and North America, her career spans industrial gas industry, hydrogen, renewables and sustainability. She recently relocated to the United States, after senior roles in Energy Observer and Air Liquide Group, from Project Manager in Customer Experience to Communications Director.

John Trenton

French Education Teacher, Pinnacle High School

John is a National Board Certified teacher of French teacher at Pinnacle High School where he teaches all levels of French. He holds bachelor’s degrees in the Recording Industry and French along with master’s degrees in French and Secondary Education. A foundational component of his teaching is creating opportunities for students to experience the Francophone world through exchanges (school partnerships and virtual), travel, and professional experiences. Additionally, he is the volunteer in charge of partnerships with the Senegalese EdTech startup Nawari which hopes to bring the culture of Senegal to the world through free educational exchanges as well as other services on their platform. John also loves spending time with his wife and two children. They especially enjoy cooking, hiking, and traveling together.
