For its third Night of Ideas held on March 1, 2024, the Alliance Française de Puerto Rico will explore the relationship between environmental stewardship and urban development through cinema and public discussion.
The opening film is the immersive short documentary Los Sonidos del Estuario (The Sounds of the Estuary) by emerging Puerto Rican talent Armando Román. The main feature is Philippe Petit’s Tant que le soleil frappe (Beating Sun), featuring the struggle of a tenacious landscaper (Swann Arlaud) to create a wild garden in the heart of Marseille. A public discussion with local experts in urban planning will complement the screening.
The free screening of Beating Sun is supported by the Institut Français.
